Appointments with GP and Nurse

For an appointment with the GP under the current pandemic please read below:

We are limiting face-to-face contact wherever possible to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

You are able to obtain a telephone  on the day by calling the surgery if there is something you need to discuss urgently.  Please call as early in the day as possible.  These appointments can also be booked online while there is availability.

You can also book via eConsult from our website for non urgent queries and the GP can call you back or send you an email or electronic prescription if required. These are for less urgent issues.

We also have video consultations where a GP or nurse can send you a text asking you to join onto a session for a video consult if required. This can be done using a smart phone.  The GP or Nurse will initiate these.

If a GP needs to see you, then you would be asked to come to the surgery. We will try and do this in a way that does not require more than a few patients in the waiting room at a time. Your GP will advise you of this after having spoken to you first but this is only IF the GP requests this to be done.

For the nurse appointments we are seeing and booking patients for the below:

  • childhood immunisations (only one parent in with the baby please and no other children)
  • wounds and dressings
  • removal of sutures
  • blood tests required by the GP or for routine monitoring
  • ECGs
  • Cervical screening
  • Diabetes monitoring (part in surgery and part done on the phone)

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE COMING IN TO THE SURGERY PLEASE ENSURE YOU DO NOT HAVE A FEVER OR COUGH OR SYMPTOMS RELATED TO THE CORONAVIRUS TO AVOID RISK TO OUR STAFF AND OR OTHER PATIENTS
