Training Practice & Research

Hillcrest Surgery is a training practice for GP Registrars. On occasion, you may be asked if you are happy for another professional to be present during your consultation.

The training we offer is invaluable to these professionals and we hope that you will be happy supporting their education. We hope that you will consent, but it is within your right to decline and your care will not be affected if you choose to do so.

We are involved in teaching medical students, junior hospital doctors and GP Registrars. In addition, the district nurses help train nurses. This all helps ensure that we work to the highest standards.

Dr Tailor is the trainer for the GP Registrars. These doctors have completed their hospital training – at least three years after qualifying – and have experience in A&E and paediatrics among other specialities.

We also have training hospital doctors join us. They will have done at least a year in hospitals after qualifying and will be closely supervised as they get experience of general practice.

We are committed to providing a high quality service and staff training is a priority, so we do occasionally shut, or run reduced services for this to happen.  If you have any concerns or would like to know more please ask to speak the Practice Manager.
